The Apple Princess and the Septet of Tiny People: Part 14

Dear Far Far Away,

I'm free! The Queen has found it in her heart to forgive me for all of my bad behaviour. All I have to do is to track down Snow and bring her back to the Kingdom. Truth be told, I'm looking forward to the mission because I've missed her so much in the time she's been gone.

Unlike the last time I went to the forest, I've been told I'm absolutely to not take weapons, but this time I have the pleasure of the Queen's company so hopefully I can learn from her wise words. It's good to get in with the Queen, as I hope she'll be my step-mother-in-law one day.

I ought to get on with preparing my suitcase for the journey. I've got clean underwear, and the finest slacks I could lay my hands on. I don't want to be dirty when I see Snow again. I've also got toothpaste and a very sharp toothbrush, because you can't be too careful while you're brushing your teeth in a moment of weakness.

Yours,

Huntsman.

The Apple Princess and the Septet of Tiny People: Part 9

Dear Far Far Away,

I finally cracked. The Queen has been over a few times in the past few days to check how watertight my story was. To be honest, she's been so kind throughout my life I just couldn't face lying to her any longer.

Now, I write this message from prison which is probably best. I did a bad thing, and now I must be punished for it. I totally understand the Queen's point of view on this. She never shouted or screamed at me, but the thing that pained me most was the look of disappointment across her face.

Outside the window there's been a fair bit of commotion. I regularly see trucks carrying apples entering the courtyard below, often leaving with rotten stock shortly afterwards. There is an almost constant stream of smoke billowing up the side of the tower, which begs me to wonder if the cook has lost his culinary skills overnight. The food since I entered prison has been awful, so I'm thinking there could be substance to my theory.

Yours,

Huntsman.

The Apple Princess and the Septet of Tiny People: Part 1

Dear Far Far Away,

I couldn't do it. I've let my Queen down, but worst of all I've let my country down. I was sent on a simple errand to kill the most beautiful girl in the world, but all I could do was set her free. Snow and I go way back but she was just the same in school as she is today. Along with her group of aesthetically pleasing friends, she would tease everyone that was ugly or had the slightest blemish.

Her Step-mum, the Queen, was the only one that would listen to me. She understood my pathological love of knives and swords and she even said my own wise mother - God rest her soul - had foreseen this and given me the name Huntsman. The Queen's kindness extended to pardoning me after I killed the King, who was a murdering tyrant, or so she said.

But now I've let her down. I'm not sure I did the right thing by bringing her back a pig's heart instead of Snow's, but she hasn't noticed anything yet. I might go and lay low for a while, though, just in case.

Yours,

Huntsman

For a swordsman with a dangerous pathological love, Huntsman sure is a wimp.
